How do you get through that dull moment when you are just seated in the car, traveling almost an hour without any interesting topic in mind to talk about? How do you beat the boredom? Well, for most people, music cuts off all dreary moments. An upbeat tune can make someone sway their shoulders or tap their foot; a mellow love song can trigger some reminiscing; and a rock song can make someone lightly bang their head. Indeed, music adds life to life itself, and the wireless internet technology has immense consideration for this.
?
Most of us are aware that music can be easily downloaded from the Internet. But with the limitations set by wired Internet connections, we cannot enjoy the freedom of downloading music wherever and whenever we want to. Fortunately, we already have wireless Internet.
It provides accessible and easy connection to the Internet regardless of where you are. While doing outdoor activities, you can freely download any song you want provided that you have access to a wireless network. Some networks use security codes, but some don?t. You can also stay in your room uninterrupted or you may choose to sit at the balcony peacefully. You do not need messy cable wires to gain access to your favorite music site and download the newest songs and artists. You can even download the old songs you want to listen to and fill your playlist with your theme songs. Through your cell phone or laptop with Wi-Fi features, downloading music is as easy as ABC.
?
Now, you might encounter problems with slow connections at home.
There are times when the song skips all the way through. The best recommendation is to switch to a better wireless Internet connection, one that is a faster and more reliable version of wireless Internet. Consider its capacity to download numerous songs while playing them continuously. It would be best if you don?t have to worry about interruptions, wherein you can launch another song while the previous one is buffering. There are actually a lot of options to have a good downloading experience. Speeding up your wireless Internet connection can be accomplished by seeking expert consultation through your wireless Internet service provider.
?
Wireless Internet has a lot to offer. It provides easy access to what our eyes want to see and what our ears want to hear. It does not only optimize education, but it also provides opportunities for honing one?s passion, and in this case, it?s music.? ?
If it had not have been showbiz for Ranbir Kapoor, it would definitely have been football, says the actor, who is endorsing a campaign on the sport.
"Football is life for me and if not an actor, I would have loved to be a footballer. It teaches team work, determination and discipline apart from being such an exciting sport," Ranbir said in a press statement.
The 29-year-old is the face of a new campaign by Pepsi. The campaign begins with a football-themed ad featuring Ranbir.
"I am thrilled that Pepsi is bringing the joy of football to India and am delighted to be a part of this campaign," he added.
The television commercial, to go on air Saturday, will see a young football enthusiast giving a cheeky reply to Ranbir, who questions his passion for football. It ends with a delightful take of Ranbir displaying his football skills, with hilarious results.
"Football is gaining immense popularity in India and being a true youth soul-mate, Pepsi is proud to be associated with the sport," said Deepika Warrier, executive director (Marketing), PepsiCo Beverages, India.
ScienceDaily (Feb. 28, 2012) ? A mysterious phenomenon detected by space probes has finally been explained, thanks to a massive computer simulation that was able to precisely align with details of spacecraft observations. The finding could not only solve an astrophysical puzzle, but might also lead to a better ability to predict high-energy electron streams in space that could damage satellites.
Jan Egedal, an associate professor of physics at MIT and a researcher at the Plasma Science and Fusion Center, working with MIT graduate student Ari Le and with William Daughton of the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), report on this solution to the space conundrum in a paper published Feb. 26 in the journal Nature Physics.
Egedal had initially proposed a theory to explain this large-scale acceleration of electrons in Earth's magnetotail -- a vast and intense magnetic field swept outward from Earth by the solar wind -- but until the new data was obtained from the computer simulation, "it used to be people said this was a crazy idea," Egedal says. Thanks to the new data, "I don't get that anymore," he says.
The simulation shows that an active region in Earth's magnetotail, where "reconnection" events take place in the magnetic field, is roughly 1,000 times larger than had been thought. This means a volume of space energized by these magnetic events is sufficient to explain the large numbers of high-speed electrons detected by a number of spacecraft missions, including the Cluster mission.
Solving the problem required a staggering amount of computer power from one of the world's most advanced supercomputers, at the National Institute for Computational Science at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. The computer, called Kraken, has 112,000 processors working in parallel and consumes as much electricity as a small town. The study used 25,000 of these processors for 11 days to follow the motions of 180 billion simulated particles in space over the course of a magnetic reconnection event, Egedal says. The processing time accumulated gradually, squeezed in during idle time between other tasks. The simulation was performed using a plasma-physics code developed at LANL that rigorously analyzes the evolution of magnetic reconnection.
Egedal explains that as the solar wind stretches Earth's magnetic-field lines, the field stores energy like a rubber band being stretched. When the parallel field lines suddenly reconnect, they release that energy all at once -- like releasing the rubber band. That release of energy is what propels electrons with great energy (tens of thousands of volts) back toward Earth, where they impact the upper atmosphere. This impact is thought, directly or indirectly, to generate the glowing upper-atmosphere plasma called the aurora, producing spectacular displays in the night sky.
What had puzzled physicists is the number of energetic electrons generated in such events. According to theory, it should be impossible to sustain an electric field along the direction of the magnetic field lines, because the plasma (electrically charged gas) in the magnetotail should be a near-perfect conductor. But such a field is just what's needed to accelerate the electrons. And, according to the new simulation, the volume of space where such fields can build up can, in fact, be at least 1,000 times larger than the theorists had thought possible -- and thus large enough to explain the observed electrons.
"People have been thinking this region is tiny," Egedal says. But now, "by analyzing the spacecraft data and doing the simulation, we've shown it can be very large, and can accelerate many electrons." As a result, "for the first time, we can reproduce the features" observed by the Cluster spacecraft.
That could be important because, among other things, "these hot electrons can destroy spacecraft," Egedal says, which is why both the military and NASA "would like to understand this better."
Although this analysis was specific to the phenomena in Earth's magnetotail, Egedal says similar phenomena may be taking place in much bigger regions of magnetized plasma in space -- such as in mass ejections that erupt from the sun's corona, which occupy regions 10,000 times larger, or even regions surrounding pulsars or other high-energy objects in deep space, which are much larger still. In the future, he hopes to carry out simulations that would apply to the sun's coronal mass ejections. "We think we can scale up the simulation" by a hundredfold, he says.
Michael Brown, a professor of physics at Swarthmore College who was not involved in this research, says Egedal "is emerging as a real leader in experimental [and] observational aspects of magnetic reconnection," and his co-author Daughton "is the recognized leader in state-of-the-art plasma simulations." The new result "is very significant, and I think is surprising to the rest of the community. ? I think this picture will gain more and more acceptance, and we have to go beyond" the presently accepted picture of plasmas, he says.
The work was supported by grants from NASA and the National Science Foundation.

Since I?ve heard the term ?trademark squatting? from five different people/sources today, it makes me think that I should write something about it before the interest dies down. Seems like I?m turning into an attention whore.
I think the interest here relates to the Michael Jordan dispute and, indirectly, to Apple-Proview.
OK, so what?s a trademark squatter? We get the term ?squatter? from those folks who occupy land or buildings without permission from the owner. In Common Law, these people can actually end up with property rights if they ?squat? for a sufficient period of time. It?s called ?adverse possession,? and this has been another edition of Fun Facts From First Year Property Law.
When it comes to trademarks (or other forms of IP, such as domain names ? aka cybersquatters), squatters are the dodgy bastards who register as trademarks the brand, product or company name of others. The motivations for doing so can vary and can include the intent to resell the mark, hold it hostage for certain business concessions, or to benefit from the product or brand?s established goodwill by using the mark on counterfeits or other products.
To put it another way: ?Hey, that company stole my trademark!?
Right. Lots of examples of this. Last week we had the Michael Jordan dispute, which involved a company that registered a long list of Jordan-related trademarks.
I just found out today that the alleged infringer in that case also registered, among others, a mark and a business designation of another well-known name in the basketball community. The company name was:??????????????.
The three bold characters in the name are ?hu ? ren ? dui? or literally ?lake ? people ? team.? Sound familiar? If you?re not an NBA fan, I?ll pause for a moment so you can do some quick Googling.
Got it? Good for you. Note that this was an example of a past incident of trademark squatting (in 2000) by these guys and, apparently, the mark was not renewed in 2010. I assume all rights now belong to the LA Lakers or the NBA or whatever special purpose company owns team names and logos.
So in addition to the Michael Jordan situation and Jeremy Lin, and the earlier cases of Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian, we?ve got Laker squatting, which sounds like a perverted B-ball groupie custom practiced in Inglewood. But no, it?s just a trademark thing, and another reason why the NBA has some top notch IP lawyers on staff.
Also in today?s news was luxury goods maker Hermes, which just lost an administrative appeal that goes back to 1995. This case involved a Chinese trademark registered by a Guangdong company. The mark associated with the French company is ????? and the one challenged is ????? ? same pronunciation, same pinyin, and obviously very similar in terms of characters used.
From a distance, this looks like an example of ?Hey, those guys stole my trademark!? Indeed. So why did Hermes lose this case?
Actually, it lost the case back in 1997, and its second attempt has now also failed. I don?t know the specific details of either proceeding, so I can?t comment on the facts beyond what I?ve seen in the press. Apparently one issue involved the insufficiency of the evidence Hermes presented to prove that its mark was well known at the time the mark was filed.
Here?s the thing with many of these trademark squatting cases. If the argument is that the mark was registered in bad faith, evidenced by the mark?s well-known status prior to the application, then it all comes down to the evidence submitted to either the court or administrative body.
This evidence can include trademark registrations, examples of use of the mark, marketing and PR materials, consumer surveys, records of money spent on brand awareness ? basically anything that supports the claim of well-known status.
Even for a world famous brand like Hermes, this is by no means a slam dunk (and this is why the Jeremy Lin case will be tougher than Michael Jordan?s). Not only does the brand owner have to dredge up information that is years old, but depending on the nature and origin of the evidence, it might also need to be notarized. The whole thing can be a huge pain in the ass, and for multinationals who do not keep very good records of their China operations, they might simply be unable to support their claim.
I don?t know what happened in the Hermes case, but I?ve had clients over the years who were unable to win on a well-known trademark argument simply because of poor record keeping. This is not as easy as it looks.
Finally, if you want another article on trademark squatting, Malcolm Riddell has a nice post on China Debate about the topic and Facebook?s brand problems in China. Good stuff as usual, and Malcolm gets special kudos for noting that the iPad trademark dispute is not an instance of trademark squatting.
Why not? As Malcolm correctly points out, Proview?s ?IPAD? product dates back to 1998, and they registered the mark in 2001, long before Apple?s tablet was rolled out. Remember, the iPad case is all about a failed trademark assignment (a commercial dispute) and not an example of one company registering someone else?s famous mark.
Just to make this long post worth it for you, I feel obligated to end here with Trademark Squatting ? (Obvious) Best Practices for Brand Owners:
1. Register first. There?s no substitute for this.
2. Monitor the trademark register.
3. Keep decent records, even {gasp} in your overseas offices.
4. If faced with a squatter, be prepared for a lengthy battle.
5. If you make a deal to buy the mark from a squatter (or anyone else), don?t screw up the transaction.

Slow video streaming can frustrate and spoil your online viewing experience. If the streaming is used for business purposes, can slowly video streaming directly affect your bottom dollar as customers frustrated and turn off. Ideally the slow streaming should not happen, as most will be loaded and currently at the same time see the streaming technology videos to play. Sometimes it may be however due to various factors, the end user computer, which prevents full benefit of video streaming technology.
In normal is the technology for the user to avoid long waiting times, go directly to the video developed. This includes the streaming-media, which are sent as a continuous unit and be played immediately, when it arrives at the end of the user. The video has compressed were to play as it comes at the same time for the audio and video. Depending on the nature of the MediaPlayer is used and the compression ratio varies the time required for the media stream. The joint organization is that the file or the video on the server is hosted, and has the ability to multicast, which means that the file for multiple users can be served at the same time. So at the moment a user on the file clicks, the file is loaded partially, before the user begins to check it out. Known as the buffering for many users, this is actually the main reason why slow user experience-streaming video. Here are simple steps on how to address a slow buffering.
There are two main reasons why the buffering is slow. Firstly, the problem with the ability of the computer to play may be the file. Secondly, it can be to get the ability of the computer, the file. A troubleshooting technique is to get more files more resources within the PC. Just click on ? start ?, ?Control panel?, and search for ?Internet Options?. For the ?General? tab and ?Delete files? under ?Temporary Internet files? is. On the dialog ?Delete files? only select ?Delete all offline content? and click on ?OK?.
Another tip is to reduce loading times and buffering. There are some media players, which allow users that tweak buffer settings. If you use Windows Media Player, start the player, and then click ?View?. Select ?Options? and ?Streaming Media? search ?Advanced tab?. Just click on ?Change? Edit settings. Both steps should address first slowly video-streaming. A long-term solution is working with companies to adopt the technology of video streaming, the small company quickly and seamlessly. Streaming video can be for this on counting systems (SVS). You can correctly and experience, video-streaming the full potential lead.

Even with the emerging destinations for outsourcing, such as the Philippines, Brazil and Sri Lanka, India continues to top charts when it comes to IT outsourcing.
The old adage says: ?The old wine tastes better.? This implies that whatever is the test of time has to be right in context. This goes well with the global outsourcing industry. Beware of the changing dynamics and trends in the outsourcing industry, India has very well adapted to the market and delivered sustained in the decade. What began in the 1980s that has the back-end operations, has grown into a major investment with the Internet boom and bust in telecommunications late 90s until 2003. Times have changed and so also the clothing business, but India as an outsourcing hub shaped his ability to provide quality ?Differentiated flavors
Currently, India and the Philippines in the global outsourcing market. The race to conquer the market and is triggered in this competition has always been a tremendous growth in the outsourcing market. With regard to the availability of labor, India wins hands down. With more than 1 billion people, there is a definite advantage over the Philippines with 94 million. In addition, with the Indians percent to 50% with an average age of 25 years, India seems much more lucrative target. Outside the workforce, are more important factors of success in business outsourcing rates determined for work, English accent, technology and government support. When compared to the Philippines, is the average salary of an Indian is much lower than that of a Filipino. In terms of English accent, the emphasis Philippines as much better than the Indians in terms of clarity and quality.
Technological progress is the backbone of the company?s outsourcing. The technological advancement of India in the global scenario has been in the League of Nations with its own identity. The colleges and institutions in India have developed their program not only increase awareness of future technologies, but also about the computer skills of potential workers to polish.
For any new business it is important to support a strong public policy in place and to encourage them to have such a company. Though both Indian and Philippine government easy to be open to foreign investment, it is India, the ?National IT Task Force 108? Action Plan developed in order to promote the growth of information technology established in India. Philippines is relatively new and has not yet been subjected to market transitions.
From the above discussion it is clear that if India is set at the top of the business outsourcing, the Philippines is relatively new and not yet reached this level.
Coming back from where we started, remains the same old wine quality when they needed a new packaging in accordance with the time.

BARC, the City of Houston?s animal shelter, is fighting a capacity crisis. BARC is required by law to accept every animal brought to its doors by Houston residents, and also has the mandate to provide animal control services within Houston city limits. Animal activity such as roaming to breed tends to decrease during colder weather; unfortunately, the unseasonably warm temperatures this ?winter? has brought many more animals than normal across BARC?s doorstep. BARC took in 250 animals from Tuesday, February 21st to Thursday, February 23rd. The BARC facility has 550 animal enclosures for both dogs and cats. As of Friday morning, February 24th, there were 476 dogs alone at the shelter, in addition to 121 cats. In response to the intake spike, BARC is slashing its adoption fee to $10 for cats and $20 for dogs into next week, hoping that Houstonians will relieve the strain.
?People are more apt to dump unwanted pets outside when it`s warm if they can`t take care of it or don`t want it anymore because they think the animal will be able to talk care of itself,? said Carlene Lormand, Marketing & Outreach Manager for BARC. Adding, ?Houston winters normally allow us to regroup and prepare for kitten season in the spring, and ?everything? season after that. This winter has been great to get outdoors with your family, but it is stressing our capacity. We just flat out need help right now. We have great pets here, you already get the most bang for your ?new pet? buck at BARC, but we have to do what we can to get people here to move more animals out the door and into homes.?
High intakes have exhausted BARC?s capability to provide additional space. Litter upon litter of puppies and multitudes of stray dogs are flooding the BARC facility while many area rescue groups are already full. BARC has also seen a higher number of lost pets or animals arriving at the facility that may have owners looking for them. Remember to check BARC if your pet is lost, no matter where you are located in the City. To check online, visit www.petharbor.com to search for your lost pet ? BARC information is updated on this site every hour.
All animals offered for adoption are spayed/neutered and have received age-appropriate vaccinations, a City license tag and microchip. For the weekend, BARC has partnered with several Petsmart and Petco locations around the city to offer adoptions of fully vetted BARC animals, including Saturday at Petsmart at 290 and Hollister (11a ? 6p), Petco on Eldridge at 1960 (Noon ? 6p), Petco on Highway 6 in Copperfield (11a ? 6p), and Petco on Wilcrest and Westheimer (Noon ? 5p). On Sunday the Petco Wilcrest and Westheimer location will be offering adoptable pets from 1p ? 6p.
?
BARC knows Houston can respond during this unusual influx. Remember, year-round BARC offers a free ?Seniors for Seniors? placement program for pets over 3 years old for Seniors 55 and older. To get in the spirit of the Academy Awards, BARC is filming a promotional video Saturday they plan to air in the coming weeks ahead. Visit BARC on Saturday, and you just might see yourself on camera!
And, as always, the BARC facility will host Friends of BARC?s Wags to Whiskers adoption event at 3200 Carr on Saturday 12-4 pm with free hot dogs and hamburgers. The tireless Friends of BARC volunteers welcome all potential adopters, fosters and volunteers with their energy and clear dedication to BARC animals.
The simplest, but most powerful thing you can do to help the BARC Houston shelter, and pets throughout our community, is to talk to your friends, neighbors, and family about caring for pets responsibly. To donate to BARC online via the Houston BARC Foundation, click here.

BUTTE, Mont.?? A scandal over the fortune of reclusive mining heiress Huguette Clark has renewed interest in the life of her father, copper magnate William A. Clark, once one of the nation's richest men.
The scandal has also brought more attention to the 34-room mansion that W.A. Clark built in Butte more than a century ago.
That home is now a bed-and-breakfast known as the Copper King Mansion and offers visitors a glimpse into the pampered lives of the robber barons who ruled American business at the turn of the previous century.
A recent three-night stay at the mansion was a trip back into Victorian opulence.

The Copper King Mansion was built from 1884 to 1888 in this city that was situated on "the richest hill on Earth," and produced most of the copper used in wire that electrified the nation.
Clark lived in Montana for nearly four decades and built this home, where he could entertain his well-heeled associates, for what was then the astonishing cost of $250,000. The mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
Slideshow: The Clarks: an American story of wealth, scandal and mystery (on this page)
These days, the home is owned is privately owned and occupied by the Cote family, who operate the bed-and-breakfast and offer guided tours.
Once one of the largest cities in the West with some 100,000 residents, Butte in recent decades has suffered economically from the precipitous decline of the copper industry. It is now home to about 32,000 people.
The older portion of the city, known as Uptown because of its steep streets, has been declared a national landmark and is filled with solid brick and stone buildings with distinctive architecture. The red Copper King Mansion is located here.
A home in heiress's building? You'll need $25 million
Many of the mansion's rooms come equipped with sleigh beds and other antique furnishings. The exquisite woodwork is amazing and many windows are decorated with stained glass. There is even an old-fashioned shower stall that sprays water from numerous openings set in a 360-degree circle around one's body.
Breakfasts are hearty, as befits a mining town.
We spent the holidays in the mansion last December while visiting family in Butte. Our suite included a sitting room where we opened presents on Christmas morning. But Butte's location at the intersection of Interstates 15 and 90, about midway between Yellowstone and Glacier national parks, makes it a good stopping point on a summer road trip. The two parks are about 400 miles apart. Butte is also located a mile high in the Rocky Mountains of southwestern Montana, and the mansion offers views of snowcapped peaks from many windows.
But the attractions don't end at the front door of the mansion. The surrounding blocks of Uptown Butte are filled with picturesque buildings, many of which have unfortunately gone to seed as the city has struggled for economic vitality since most of the mines closed in 1980. A good camera is mandatory for walking through Uptown Butte.
William Andrews Clark was born in 1839 in Pennsylvania and moved to Montana in 1863.
Full coverage: Huguette Clark mystery
He eventually struck it rich in the mining camps and moved to the boom town of Butte in 1872. He branched out into numerous businesses, including banking, copper smelting, newspapers and railroading. He entered politics, serving as president of the Montana constitutional conventions in 1884 and 1889. He was elected by the state Legislature to the U.S. Senate in 1901, serving a single term.
In fact, his purchase of a Senate seat through the bribing of legislators led eventually to the constitutional amendment calling for the direct election of senators.
Clark also created the city of Las Vegas in 1905 as a way station for his Los Angeles to Salt Lake City railroad. Surrounding Clark County was named for him.
Clark left the Senate in 1907 and moved to a Fifth Avenue mansion in New York City, where he devoted himself to his business interests and to acquiring art. He died in 1925 at the age of 86, leaving his children a fortune of more than $200 million.
His last surviving child was Huguette Clark, who was born in Paris. She was married briefly in her 20s to a bank clerk. They parted after only nine months.
After her mother's death, Clark's busy life in New York society slowed and she rarely ventured from her home. She voluntarily moved into a hospital in the 1980s. She died in May at the age of 104, leaving a $400 million estate but no children.
Family of heiress Clark claims fraud by nurse, others
A New York judge has suspended the attorney and accountant who administered her estate, after finding evidence they engaged in tax fraud that resulted in $90 million in unpaid federal gift taxes and penalties. Both deny any wrongdoing. The Manhattan district attorney's office has been looking into how Clark's affairs were managed in the past two decades.
Huguette Clark never lived in the Copper King Mansion, although one of the bedrooms has her photo on the wall and is decorated in the style of a young woman.

The main goal of technical writing is to understand and then portray it with clarity: the purpose is to basically communicate specific ideas, and any information in the document should contribute to this goal. If any part of the document fails to do so, then delete, edit or change that part of the document right then. This rule however, also indicates that you should know exactly the points that your document or you intend to make through your document: if you yourself don?t know the purpose of your writing, you can never achieve it effectively.
Some people think that writing term papers, giving talks, and any similar ?marketing? activity is not a part of the research, but an adjunct to it or an undesirable distraction to it. This view is however, inaccurate. The purpose of any research is to basically increase the store of human knowledge within a person, and so even the best of your work is useless if you are unable to write it effectively so that it communicates well to the rest of the world.
Even if you believe that you have the understanding of ideas and contributions, you may likely find that when you try to write or speak them out, you fail to clearly enunciate them. The process of thinking and clarifying, one aspect of which is writing papers and giving talks, is a valuable asset to improve your research.
Miscellaneous
Be consistent, while using the number of digits of precision. If the data that have been measured are 1.23, 44.67 and 891.72, for example, you may report them as 1.23, 44.7 and 892, or as 1.2, 45, and 890, or even as 1, 50, and 900. Use appropriate number of digits of precision that reflects your measurement process ? for example, if you are not confident in the 3rd digit of precision (and there is rarely a reason to have confidence that is general and accurate!), omit it right then! Always keep in mind the message that you wish to convey to the readers ? the readers might get distracted from the big picture and the larger trends by too many digits of precision.
If you include an inappropriate number of digits of precision then you can cast suspicion on all of your results, by giving the readers an impression that you are statistically naive.
Your related work section should not only explain the research that others have done, but each case should compare and contrast to your work. Additionally, for each of your related work that is significant, after reading it, readers should however understand the key idea and the contribution of that work.
In a 3 or more elements list, it is better to put commas between each of the items (including the last two of them), for more clarity. As a simple example as to why a 3-element grocery list should be considered that is written without the clarifying last comma: ?milk, cheese, and macaroni and crackers.? It is not however clear whether it means (milk, cheese and macaroni, crackers) or (milk, cheese, macaroni and crackers). I HAVE SEEN EVEN MORE CONFUSING EXAMPLES.

Oh, what a difference a year makes! I had the MOST fun session Saturday morning with the G Family at their home near Summerfield, on the outskirts of Greensboro. I first met Miss Carson just one year ago during her newborn session, also at the home of the G family. I ?also had the pleasure of capturing her 6 month smiles as well at Greensboro?s Bicentennial Gardens. That was a really fun session, but the 1 year session was really special since we were back in the same spaces & places where we had captured her as a newborn just one year ago. Here is one of my favorite images from our session?. I?ll share a few more here on the blog later this week, but for now you can see another sneak peek over on facebook. Just for fun, I?ve included a very similar shot of Mommy, Daddy, & Baby hanging out on the couch from our newborn session, just below this one. Thank you SO much tot he G family for what has now been three wonderful sessions? stay tuned for more of this fun and beautiful family. xo

For those in long distance relationships it?s always the kisses that one misses the most.
Singapore-based Iranian researcher Hooman Samani wants to change that with the Kissenger or Kiss Messenger device created by his research centre Lovotics.
He is creating a system of devices paired over the Internet which will replicate the overall sensation of a kiss, where when one kisses at one end it is felt at the other end. The Kissenger looks like a stuffed toy; a deformed pig with large human lips.
Is the young and single club of glam set in the city excited about such an invention? Or do they think otherwise?
Snooker champ, Pankaj Advani, says, ?If it?s not the real thing it?s not worth it. If it?s not a touch it doesn?t amount to much. But if it can match somewhere close to the real deal, then it might be good.?
Young, single and pretty, Meenakshi Raju, who runs the Biere Club wonders if the future of romance in the digital age is secure with such discoveries?
She says, ?It sounds really cute, but I wonder if it can substitute the real thing. I would like to try it out and see if it can. It definitely might help many lovers staying away from each other, from falling apart.?
Lovotics is part of the Keio-Nus Cute Center in Singapore, which is collaboration between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Keio University of Japan. Samani hopes with his research to improve human affection with the careful use of technology.
The young, uptown lad, Adam Bidapa opines, ?It seems that the main target of Lovotics seems to be happiness. It?s weird and may help real needy lovers. I don?t think I?m going to use it, since I don?t believe in long-distance relationships.?
Admitting to being in and out of a couple of relationships, copywriter Hedyi Shaygi, feels, ?I have come out of two long-distance relationships and believe that such devices may work only temporarily, but not in the long run. A kissenger will make one only very emotional and make the longing worse. Touch and feel is the key to love. Though this device promises that it will be almost real, I quite doubt if anything can be as real as a real kiss.?
They aren?t lots of people nowadays who haven?t learned about debt consolidation, because it is discussed so frequently
Even though this term is familiar, most are not fully aware of the precise concept of debt consolidation, what you can use it for, or all it?s implications, etc..
Debt consolidation is often pointed out inside a similar context as consolidation financial loans and debt consolidation financial loans, and the easiest method to explain this is of those expressions, is to check out what individually.
As must appear apparent, the term debt clearly pertains to money that?s owed, also it appears that it features a type of ominous connection, and well it might, as debts are not something to welcomed with open arms.
Actually when financial obligations increase and be difficult to handle existence becomes only a endless find it difficult to survive in one day towards the other , and also the part of debt will find themself struggling with not just mental but additionally physical not being healthy.
Consolidation, regardless of what we?re mentioning to, means the unification or joining together of countless different organizations in to the a single item.
Financial loans is, as everybody knows, the borrowng of cash that?s usually paid back monthly on the formerly agreed quantity of several weeks or years.
When these test is placed back together again, their meaning becomes obvious, which is they are way of borrowing that roll a variety of bits of debt in things like credit charge cards, individual financial loans, H.P., an the like into a single monthly payment.
Debt consolidation is capable of doing turning an individual?s existence around, as there?s no worse condition than finding yourself in a continuing condition of chaos triggered with a mountain of terrible debt that may become so terrible that existence becomes completely intolerable.
It?s simple enough to become responsible for obtaining a lot of charge cards, etc, etc. since many people appear to check out their financial obligations within an individual fashion, failing to remember that after they make an application for their 4th card that they have another three, along with the greater purchase seek their vehicle and also the home emprovement loan that taken care of their 30,000 conservatory .
At some point nevertheless the debt involves a mind, which is then that individuals become full of stress once they understand that they don?t have enough money to satisfy almost all their payments.
This is where debt consolidation comes to save the day, and using a guaranteed loan or remortgage for this function, just one a low interest rate payment every month will replace all of the high interest financial obligations.
For this reason it?s so inportant to understand what consolidation financial loans mean, as doing this could make existence a lot better for a lot of people.
??
Champion Finance really are a lengthy established company within the finance industry getting been buying and selling since 1985. Guaranteed financial loans can be used as just about any purpose plus they make excellent consolidation financial loans. Additionally to guaranteed financial loans, Champiion Finance arrange remortgages and mortgages in the entire market. Debt advice, debt consolidation .
02/17/12 Baltimore, Maryland ? Some of the very best Argentine steak houses are in Amsterdam, some of America?s very best rodeo cowboys are Brazilian and some of the world?s very best beach volleyball courts are high in the Swiss Alps. The ?cosmopolitanization? of the world is under way ? creating vast, new and diverse patterns of commerce? which also means vast, new and diverse investment opportunities.
Because cultural influences continuously tend to travel and disperse like pollen on the breeze, the resulting cross-pollination produces a dizzying array of cultural hybrids. In one sense, therefore, the world is becoming smaller. But as it ?shrinks,? it is also expanding culturally. When cultural influences combine with one another, they sometimes produce sociological phenomena and expressions that defy strict national categorization.
To illustrate the point, let?s return to those Argentine steaks, American cowboys and beach volleyball courts?
According to a colleague who sometimes knows what he?s talking about, ?There?s an Argentine restaurant in Amsterdam named CAU that serves a filet mignon that is as good as any filet I have ever eaten in Argentina or Uruguay?maybe better. CAU stands for ?Carne Argentina Unica??and that?s exactly what CAU serves. Argentina itself still holds the title for best-ever rib-eye, but the filet at CAU was incredible!?
A similar Southern Hemisphere/Northern Hemisphere curiosity is unfolding in the American rodeo world.
?Five of the top six riders on the Colorado-based Professional Bull Riders Tour all hail from Brazil,? The Wall Street Journal reports. ?[And] there are five more Brazilians among the [rest of the] top 40 riders? The South American country has been producing strong contenders since the tour began nearly two decades ago, but never before this season have its cowboys been so dominant, with Brazilians winning 17 of the 27 events so far. Their prowess has other riders frantically reassessing their techniques, scrambling to learn Portuguese and even vacationing in Brazil in hopes that secrets to the Brazilians? success will somehow seep in.?
?I?m kinda ticked about it,? a 60-year-old computer specialist from Fargo, N.D., tells the WSJ. ?There?s nothing more American than a cowboy, and all of a sudden these Brazilians are walking away with everything.?
The Brazilians are also walking away with a lot of the beach volleyball titles?often without even the setting foot on a beach. Last summer, the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour hosted a tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland ? 3,440 feet (1,050 meters) above sea level, the highest altitude tournament on the tour. Brazilian duos won both the men?s and women?s 2011 event in Gstaad, but the semifinal contests also featured teams from Germany, Poland, China, Italy and, yes, the US.
As recently as 10 years ago, most beach volleyball tournaments featured mostly American beach volleyball players playing on actual American beaches. No more. Today, the best professional players could hail from almost any country on the planet?and the tournaments, likewise, could take place almost anywhere on the planet?including the Swiss Alps.
This very unscientific sample of cultural cross-pollination and hybridization mirrors a powerful trend in the world of commerce and, therefore, in the world of investing. Regional cultural differences remain, but national borders are becoming increasingly irrelevant to economic trends. They are accidental, artificial constructs that surround underlying supply/demand phenomena.
International commerce, therefore, is becoming less and less about bilateral trade between nations and more and more about worldwide demand for a specific product or service. Accordingly, international investing is becoming less and less about ?where? and more and more about ?what.?
Investors can benefit by recognizing this subtle nuance. Let me explain.
Traditionally, US investors seeking to invest overseas would allocate capital to a specific country or region. They might buy an ?Asia Pacific Fund,? for example, or maybe something more targeted, like a ?Singapore Fund.? But country- or region-specific considerations drove the investment decision. That?s traditional international investing, and it is still a valid strategy.
But a complementary international investing strategy is something we call ?supranational? investing.
?Supra-,? according to Webster?s Unabridged Dictionary, is ?a prefix meaning above, over, beyond.? Supranational investing, therefore, looks above, over and beyond national and regional borders. It seeks to identify the companies that will deliver the greatest growth around the world, rather than the countries that will deliver the greatest growth. Supranational investing seeks to identify the products or services that will attract the greatest demand growth throughout the entire world and then invest in the companies that provide these products or services.
A company like Pall Corp. is a great example. Pall, which trades right here on the NYSE under the symbol PLL, manufactures and supplies filtration, separations and purification products. In the company?s own words, ?Pall?s fluid management solutions enable customers to purify and conserve water, consume less energy, make alternative energy possible and practical, advance medicine and minimize emissions and waste.?
Pall benefits from local demand, yes, but also it benefits from demand from the rest of the world. The company generates only one-third of its sales from the Americas. Europe accounts for 39% of its sales, while Asia accounts for 28%. As such, Pall is not an ?Asian trade? or an ?African trade?; it is a world trade. It is an investment in the growing global demand for clean water?and Pall?s stock market performance makes the point.
During the last five years, PLL has charted an independent course that bears little resemblance to the trends of either the S&P 500 index or the MSCI EAFE index of international stocks. In other words, Pall?s share price has tracked the strong performance of its own operations, rather than the performance of any particular national economy or stock market.
Even more dramatic is the two-decade-long divergence between Japan?s Kurita Water Industries and the overall Japanese stock market. Over the last two decades, Japan?s Nikkei 225 index has tumbled 59% in US dollar terms (78% in yen terms!), while the EAFE index of international stocks has scratched out a gain of 109%. But over the same time frame, Kurita has delivered a total return of 200%.
Past performance is no guarantee of future performance, but in this case, we think it will be a reliable hint. For the future ? both near term and long term ? water purification is one of our favorite supranational investment themes.

We have a severe dilemma brewing with GPS navigation techniques for vehicles and also motorcycles. You can find nonetheless troubles with this particular devise as being a higher tech toy are additional severe than you might think. Inquire everyone inside a metro area who has purchased a brand new automobile with 1 of these cool GPS upgrades for their SUV or new sports automobile. We've had our consumers complain (buyers of the carwash enterprise, which is my occupation). Oh they love the gadget, but they're beneath whelmed from the lack of information and streets, which are not outlined. You see we now have been viewing incredible suburban development in quite a few metropolitan areas. Locations close to massive DMA metros really are a dilemma out inside the middle class suburbs. In several places like outdoors Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Nashville, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Columbus, Cleveland, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, DC Subs, and so on. And in NJ, NC, NV, OH a lot of other quickly expanding development pockets.
When GPS devises for vehicles first hit the scenes in the CES and SEMA shows in 1996, they became more and more additional popular, powerful and much better information. But like VHS and Beta, Apple and IBM, competitors grew to become increasingly higher triggering a lot consolidation within the business together with patent fights. Significantly of the technology was previous Defense Contractors peddling their wares through subsidiary buyer stage firms. But the tight marketplace remained as a result of the costs. Meanwhile companies like DeLorme and other people attempted to flood the marketplace with very low priced GPS units, which made issues even far more competitive. Along with the bugs were not totally from the program nevertheless. Someday all automobiles will drive themselves and people can check out Television, do video clip conferencing and use their transportation as being a portable office or enjoyment system though they're becoming driven to the place they have punched into their computer. Some issues will have to occur just before this is actually a fact of course. But ultimately your dexterity skills to really pilot a vehicle is going to be worthless and un-needed.
1st the satellites will have to be laser aligned and use several satellites to obtain absolute places of ground goods and automobiles. The cars will need to have extra anti collision devises created up of networked sonar and optic movement sensors. All of that are now out there as well as the technology is obtaining greater and superior. Several military programs right now will probably be civilian tomorrow. Just like Radar, Microwave ovens, Nuclear Energy, Mobile Phones, Satellite Communication and Jet Aircraft in Industrial Aviation. The flow of transportation will likely be introduced towards the next era to serve guy superior.
For your time being the incremental modifications in these technologies has hit a slight road block even though Honda, GM, Ford, Mercedes, Daimler Chrysler and Toyota have invested billions in anti-collision and security devices which they will add comfort and desirable possibilities which they are able to promote to buyers as upgrades. Intelligent Auto Technologies can add Thousands of Bucks towards the cost of a auto and buyers are glad to buy them. A factory GPS system with display can price up to $6,000.00 and they market many them about the higher end vehicles. It's a superior profit item upgrade, even though there are actually some, which only cost $1000. And should you want to compare these, some are extremely incredible with lots of functions;
There are lots of organizations, which offer after marketplace laptop or computer assist objects. These providers are performing really properly as well as the systems operate good. The large problem is just because you might have a super duper incredible GPS program, doesn't mean the road you might be seeking is even on the map yet. To put it differently it is like using an aged map. In case you are a studier of maps like I occur to become, you will see the problem with older maps. Even some organizations maintain printing previous map data 12 months following year with out including in new on ramps, metropolis streets, infrastructure freeway enhancements and ring-roads, it truly is aggravating for all those from from city. Even more aggravating looking for an tackle or road inside a new housing tract, which you may see however the devise insists, doesn't exist? Then you will discover issues in areas like Cape Coral, FL and Tehachapi, CA or El Paso, TX and Knoxville, TN exactly where the roads happen to be scraped and able to place in or place in but do not connect or have absolutely nothing there however. Certainly it can be really aggravating to see a street and try to go down it and find it truly is a dirt street that connects to absolutely nothing yet or an entire sub-division that doesn't exist? Is it a Mirage? In that case where could be the white Tiger Present?
Jack Dangermond of ESRI had set up entire networks of software package makers who developed data for their brilliant software package goods for GPS and GIS wants. Utilized by government, military, utility businesses, transportation corporations, personal firms with GPS models to sell to the public, 1st Responders and school districts for buses. Immediately after the Dot Com crash those software package companies were amongst a number of the survivors, but had significantly cut expenses. Therefore without having the appropriate information the GPS systems bought through the upper, upper-middle and middle course for their vehicles were not continually excellent enough to support the price level for that latest technologies. This can be specially upsetting considering that the upper, upper-middle and center class citizens who pay out one of the most taxes reside inside the suburbs for one of the most component. The odds of a middle class American; who bought a residence in the course of the three many years last housing boom; not being able to uncover their home or road on their new GPS devise can be a greater probability then them really finding it. We interviewed 1 gentleman who bought a brand new Nissan Sports automobile.
Who lives in a newer created location inside the higher finish Las Vegas, Clark County Suburbs, which only had the major streets on his GPS and had huge blank spots on his system? Some GPS gadgets allow the consumer to pick a satellite vendor and information vendor and software package, but many with the Factory units don't. Folks think they are obtaining some thing seriously excellent after which uncover they cannot use it to navigate, which would really piss you off contemplating you may have compensated as much as $6,000 for that unit. Even a lot more harmful is the information and facts we learned from an EMT ambulance driver in Dallas location who told us of trying to find streets for 15-20 minutes soon after battling through suburban gridlock to obtain to exactly where they believed it might be. 3G cell phone technologies may assist for all those utilizing cell phones to call in information to the dispatches. For all the training we're doing across this nation for very first responders and on-going training of police, fire, Hazmat, and so on. it seems that we've forgotten the troubles of the system. Any time you build a program to serve humankind you have to allow it to be straightforward and make it operate, that need to be the very first, the rather first priority, then you could repair all of the other issues.
With that said we interviewed a lady not too long ago one evening who had a hell of a long day functioning for that Metro Police Departments Central Nervous Program. The communications middle and dispatch is to what we are referring. Even though she was unaware of the dilemma in the center for poor data or missing data in the program, she couldn't say how they had been able to get the facts. Luckily serving a metro area they're possibly connected to the arranging departments pc, which they should be. And when the police division has the new data and no issue during this situation, why possess the software vendors not been capable to access the data? It really is a basic safety issue if an individual having a GPS system pulls out a map and tries to study it though driving in an area they're not familiar with. It can be assured that inside the background with the vehicle within this nation a lot more people today have been in serious traffic accidents from trying to study maps, than speaking on cell phones, despite the fact that cell phones little doubt a contributing factor in a lot of lesser accidents will eventually pass this figure. Where the streets are, properly frankly I can not fully grasp the should maintain this a magic formula unless of course it can be the layout of Region 51, Prison, Energy plant, Pentagon grounds, Military Bases, etc. When the emergency first responders divisions and contractors would share the data, there could be much less accidents and they perhaps able to get some assistance in the public being the eyes and ears
http://www.lancewinslow.org/nmwp.shtml
as well as maybe they could in truth use the thought of Smart Virtual Mobile Communities or FlashMob scenarios since budgets are strapped because the Nationwide Security ?Red-Orange-Yellow-High-Risk-Danger-Days? include great frequency, far more police and first responders are on duty and that costs funds. With out substantial inflows the protection on the Grid of a city is in jeopardy of slower response occasions. Fast response occasions would be the easiest approach to keep the peace, every person, which gets absent can trigger problems a different day and certainly in situation of Worldwide Terrorist Attacks.
It really is necessary to possess the data for these devises and everybody is better served when communication flows. GPS models give that as well as the data should really be readily offered and most likely it can be best to have the metropolitan areas making use of the exact same formats as very first responders and the exact same information may be utilised for utilities, customers, military as well as census data or academia studying urban sprawl and development charges to have infrastructures ready in the course of expansion. Things like drinking water and energy, which has obviously been a major concentrate right here.
There wants to get a nationwide coordinated effort to see that these information is filtered to the personal sector, simply because as it stand the corporations have already been hammered in the industry and can't perform the services to deliver this things to marketplace. Communication is vital for authorities and citizen a like, enhanced efficiencies in home business will help save the government income and offer additional tax base and money on the revenue of such companies making use of these kinds of data, as well as save money and time for all the government companies discussed over. If we want a screaming economy we ought to be considering how we are able to streamline and accelerate the flow of facts to improve efficiencies and allow a little portion of the acquire from the expanded pie to carry on the growth. To put it differently, we allow it to be less complicated for the Florist to provide, the school buses to pick up far more kids per hour plus the soccer mom to get far more kids to practice and nonetheless have time left to shop all of which serves man. The digital GIS divide is as critical for our economic system as the Digital Web Divide. Kids in sports activities do much less medication, grow to be more competitive, have greater operate ethics and soccer moms can assist maintain the retail economic system heading. Each and every time you ease the flow, a lot more things are feasible. The exponential increase in American productivity is required to offset the time lost in visitors and congestion. GIS-GPS systems can support in any emergency or merely driving around town finding things performed to examine off one?s list for the day. [unable to retrieve full-text content]ContributorNetwork - COMMENTARY | I want to preface this commentary by stating upfront that I am a former soldier and veteran of the 1991, (first) Persian Gulf war. Thus, I am not fundamentally opposed to the use of military force, particularly in opposition to abject tyranny and/or in direct defense of our nation -- the United States -- and its proven, steadfast allies. Having said this, let me be clear, I was opposed to this current, dubious incantation of the war on Iraq early on, and remain so after nine long years of irrevocable bloodshed and depletion of our nation's treasures -- both human and financial.
Sugars give rise to enormous biochemical interest given the importance and diversity of the functions they carry out: they act as an energy storage system and serve as fuel for a number of biological systems; they form part of DNA and of ribonucleic acid (RNA) and, moreover, play a key role in cell processes. Recently interest in sugars has also been increasingly attracting the attention of cosmochemistry, more concretely, in the search for the fundamental matter of the origin of life in interstellar space. Finding this would also help in the understanding of what the mechanism of the origin of life on Earth was. The most elemental of sugars, made up of 2 and 3 units of carbon, have already been found in interstellar molecular clouds and meteorites. Nevertheless, it has not been possible to date to detect more complex sugars in space, given the absence of precise information about their structure. This information is what the research laboratories have to provide.
There are numerous research teams to be first in the race to detect this sugar in gas phase, using high-resolution techniques. Problems have arisen in trying to vaporise it due to the thermal instabilities caused by loss of water. "Only if you avoid the processes of decomposition on dehydration and manage to isolate the sugar, thus obviating the changes produced by neighbouring molecules, will you be in a position to characterise its structure", explained Mr Emilio Jos? Cocinero, researcher at the Department of Physical Chemistry of the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). His latest research has become amongst the first worldwide to have managed to observe a sugar ? a ribose ? in the gas phase and to characterise a number of its structures. His article, "Ribose Found in the Gas Phase", published by the Angewandte Chemie International Edition, was announced on the front cover of the April issue of the scientific journal and also highlighted in the on-line version. This publication has an impact factor of 12.730, making it the most important in the field of Chemistry.
Participating in the research, led by Mr Cocinero, was Ms Patricia ?cija, Mr Francisco Jos? Basterretxea, Mr Jos? Andr?s Fern?ndez and Mr Fernando Casta?o, from the UPV/EHU, with the collaboration of Mr Alberto Lesarri from the University of Valladolid and of Jens-Uwe Grabow, from the University of Hannover (Germany), being undertaken in its totality with the team formed at the Basque university.
In concrete, in order to observe the ribose in gas phase, microwave spectroscopy was used combined with ultra-rapid laser vaporisation with ultraviolet light. Not only was it isolated and observed, but six different structures of the ribose were detected. "Sugars are super flexible molecules that can take on many different configurations. We have managed to detect the six most stable structures of the free ribose", explained the lead researcher. However, all the structures detected show rings of six members, i.e. the structures involved are very different from those shown in RNA or ADNA ribose or its derivatives, where the rings are five-membered. "Given that the genetic material has a different configuration, it is unlikely that the first living beings had ribose. Thermal instability and the preference for 6-member rings would appear to exclude the possibility that the first genetic material was made up of this sugar", concluded Mr Cocinero. With this door opened to the study of sugars in gas phase, it will be "easier" to obtain information on the role of sugars in the origin of the first living beings.
